Old Parchment

One of my most popular actions of all time is “Old Parchment”. It’s simple, but it’s effective.

Did this not work initially in Photoshop CS6. Had to record an additional step (right after “Make”) to switch to 8bit mode. Otherwise many functions do not work. Just this simple addition ensures it works well.
    Thanks for the action!

    Hi

I was wondering ( Newbie ) how the heck do I get this effect in PSCS5? I’ve down loaded it, but I have no clue …. lol help ?

      Hi Heather,
All you need to do after downloading is to extract it to your adobe folder. I created a new folder just for actions to keep things tidy.
Next open PS and go to WINDOW >> ACTIONS and the Actions panel will appear.
Go to the top right of the panel and you will find a drop down section and just over half way down you will see LOAD ACTIONS.
Click this and then navigate to the folder you extracted your Action to and simply load it.
Back in the Actions panel you will now see a folder with the name of the action. Click the triangle to the left of the folder to open it and you will see all the stages of the action. Select the top stage – just below the folder and assuming you have a photo already loaded in PS.
Now go to the bottom of the panel and press the PLAY triangle
and the action will burst into life. If you get any popups regarding changes just accept them and continue, you can always play with these later.
Hope this helps and if you need any more help you now have my email.
      Good Luck.
      Lee

A good important article which does make you consider about the bigger picture here. I concur with the earlier mentioned opinion and although I would certainly consider myself somewhat much less advanced in terms of awareness on the matter he obviously appreciates precisely what he is talking about as do you.

    Hi,

Can you please tell me what font you used on your example picture ( “Old Parchment”).

I really like it and would like to use it on a website.

    Thanks,
    Alina
